Soy Rebelde Tour will be the fifth and final tour by Mexican pop group, RBD.
The tour marks the group's reunion fifteen years after their last series of concerts, Gira del Adiós, ended at the end of 2008. The reunion was announced on January 19, 2023, and will be the group's first tour as a quintet, as the member Alfonso Herrera declined to participate in the tour for personal reasons.
The tour will start on August 25, 2023, in El Paso, United States and will end on December 3, 2023, in Mexico City.
On December 19, 2022, all members – with the exception of Herrera – made a blackout on their social networks, where they announced that on January 19, 2023 a statement would be made. Fans from cities including Los Angeles, New York, Texas, Chicago, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Mexico City gathered in public places where a 3-minute video broadcast over a big screen announced the tour. 21 performances were confirmed in the United States, three in Mexico and two in Brazil. On January 20th, an extra date was added in the city of Los Angeles. Due to high demand in the United States and Mexico, the group announced on January 25, additional new dates in New York, Phoenix, Miami, Edinburg, San Diego and Mexico City. On January 26th, one more extra date was added in Los Angeles and São Paulo.
RBD was a musical group that appeared in the Mexican telenovela Rebelde (2004–06), being produced by Pedro Damián and by Televisa, and shown by Canal de Las Estrellas. The telenovela was starred by Mexican actors and singers Anahí, Dulce María, Alfonso Herrera, Christopher von Uckermann, Maite Perroni and Christian Chávez.
The melodrama came to an end in June 2006 after 3 seasons, and the group continued with its activities and in 4 years, released six studio albums: Rebelde (2004), Nuestro Amor (2005), Celestial (2006), Rebels ( 2006), Empezar Desde Cero (2007) and Para Olvidarte de Mí (2009), six video albums: Tour Generación RBD En Vivo (2005), Live in Hollywood (2006), Live in Rio (2007), Hecho en España ( 2007), Live in Brasília (2009) and Tournée do Adeus (2009) and four world tours. In 2007, the group starred in the series RBD La Familia, a sitcom that fictionally shows the group's daily life. On December 21, 2008, the band performed the last show of their career in Madrid, Spain. The sixth studio album, Para Olvidarte de Mí (2009), marks the last unreleased release of the sextet, definitively ending group activities.
Between 2004 and 2009, the RBD group sold 15 million albums, 4 million tickets, received two Latin Grammy nominations, multiple gold, platinum and diamond records, becoming one of the biggest pop acts in the history of contemporary Hispanic music.
In December 2020, four of its six members participated in a virtual concert titled Ser O O Parer: The Global Virtual Union and released the song "Siempre He Estado Aquí". Dulce María and Alfonso Herrera did not participate in the project because the former had given birth to her first daughter in December and Herrera was focused on acting.
